Just Ask Us!

They Said They Could Do More. (Really?)

Yes, you can ask us ya know.

I’ve been thinking about something I’ve seen a lot more of lately, and honestly, I just can’t fathom it. A customer tells us another company’s salesperson convinced them they could offer more. They’ve been in business longer ... they can do this and that. And I’m sitting there thinking, Well, did you ask us?

Ask us! You haven’t even checked. If another company is offering free foot massages to sell you an air conditioning system, maybe I’ll start offering free foot massages, too. I’m kidding. Mostly. But seriously, you’d be surprised

how many things we can offer that customers simply don’t know to ask about.

Can you offer financing? Sure.

Can you make payment plans? Sure.

Can you add UV lights? Sure.

Can you get a labor warranty? Sure.

We offer plenty of options, and we’re happy to talk through them with you. You’re missing out if you don’t ask us. I think part of what we’re seeing right now has to do with the economy. Nobody wants to admit it, but the world has

economic issues, and America is experiencing some pain. The equipment we buy went up 23% this year. At the same time, I think sales are down, and competitors are phenomenally different from what they’ve been in the past.

I’ve seen salespeople really pin a customer down. They’ll sit across from the kitchen table and just keep nitpicking, nitpicking, nitpicking. “Well, they can do this.” “Well, we can add that.” “Well, what about this?” They’ll find something

to pitch because they have to make the sale.

AvaAir is hopefully a company you’ve trusted for years because we’re not high-pressure. That’s important to us. But the flip side of that is we’re not going to sit there and play whack-a-mole with every little thing another salesperson tells you. We’re not going to badmouth another company to get your business. We’re going to tell you what we can do, what we recommend, and why.

There’s another thing I really want you to watch out for: Ask what equipment they’re actually offering you! There are some brands I would not put in my own home. They’re dirt cheap low quality or grossly overengineered. I don’t sell those brands.

If somebody offers equipment that seems dramatically cheaper, I’d love to know what it is. I can explain the differences, and then you can make an informed decision. That’s what we want for you: an educated decision, not a pressured decision. Nobody likes telling somebody “no” or wants to sit across from a salesperson and say, “Sorry,

but we’re going to think about this.” And when somebody is purely commission-driven, they have a pretty strong reason to keep the conversation going until you say “yes.”

Of course, we need sales to stay in business, too, but we’re also a small enough company that we take it personally when a customer we’ve maintained for years gives somebody else the replacement without even giving us a shot at matching their "deal of the century".

So, before you make that decision, just ask!

Can we offer it? Maybe.

Can we match it? Maybe.

Can we explain the difference? Absolutely.

Just ask us!
